NHSC are peripheral components to the actual interactive system but can support it from both an external (i.e., the UI) and internal point of view (e.g., data capture and processing).

Standard input and output devices – such as the mouse, the keyboard, the camera, the microphone – can be systematically considered as NHSC for many systems.

In the specific case of Lyric, the GPS of the mobile phone on which the system could rely to locate the user is also part of the NHSC.
